Radiometric correction normalizes spectral instruments

Key Points:  Changes in the spectral quantum efficiency (QE) of wavelength detectors distorts spectral profiles and wavelength ratios. This problem can be largely alleviated by “Radiometric correction.”  Radiometrically corrected instruments report identical spectra regardless of the QE characteristics or detector type. ALL spectral instruments that produce Radiometric data meet universal standards of normalization and standardization.
